46 | WATERLINE March 2025 INDUSTRY NEWS The New Zealand Marina Operators Association (NZMOA) 2025 Marinas and Boatyard Conference will be held from 1012 September at the Crowne Plaza, Queenstown, concluding with a study tour on 12 September which will include the new Queenstown Marina, built by MIA Platinum Sponsor Bellingham Marine. With 197 berths ranging from 8-18 metres the marina is surrounded by the spectacular mountain ranges Queenstown is renowned for. Protected by a proprietary concrete wave attenuator, the specifically engineered concrete pontoons feature tie downs at each corner – a first for New Zealand. Bruce Birtwistle CMP, Bellingham Marine General Manager commented, “This is a magnificent development and will be a game changer for Queenstown. We are delighted to have delivered this project for the Queenstown and broader New Zealand boating community. We are very proud of this development.” All berths are serviced with power and water, and fuel and black water pump out has been installed for complete boating convenience. The marina also incorporates commercial floating sheds and landside offices which are all available for lease. Secure parking and food and beverage outlets make Queenstown Marina a great destination for boat lovers arriving on or off water. “Queenstown is home to one of the industry’s most respected and innovative regional marinas,” said NZMOA Chair, Chris Galbraith. “They have done an exceptional job developing an operation that provides safe berthage for commercial and private boats, respecting the landscape and environment, and delivering superb functionality.” Registrations will open in the coming months.
