The MSP and its core principles include: • Minimising the use of all plastics and eliminating single-use plastics • Achieving carbon neutrality • Utilising renewable energy resources • Managing water resources and pollution • Reducing air emissions and pollution • Enhancing resource efficiency through circular economy concepts • Protecting and restoring marine habitats • Engaging communities and educating customers about sustainability The leadership and stewardship of the marine business community have resulted in significant advancements in the protection and enhancement of marine ecosystems. The Marine Sustainability Pledge (MSP) will continue the industry’s environmental progress and build upon the foundation of the Elimination of Single-Use Plastics Pledge. It offers a simple framework for marine businesses to embrace a sustainable future, challenge current practices, and find more sustainable ways of operating with respect to the environment and sustainability.
