7 Council approves headquarters for Denny organisation B U S I N E S S N E W S CENTRAL COAST COUNCIL last month approved the development of a seven level building on the corner of Manns Road and Stockyard Close West Gosford adjacent to the Gosford Classic Car Museum and which will become the headquarters of the Denny organisation. The building will comprise a total of 6,500 sqm of floor space and accommodate vehicle showroom, 80 place call centre, property development display suites, administration offices, café and gym. The approval secures the Denny organi- sation’s plans for growth based on the Central Coast. Mr Denny, who directly and indirectly employs over 150 Central Coast people at present and this will ramp up to over 500 by late 2018 shared his vision for Gosford and the Central Coast with CCBR recently saying, “Our aim is to be an environmentally sustain- able development and construction com- pany, and this building is just the beginning of us reducing our carbon footprint.” Mr Denny’s property development com- pany, Central Real, is exploring the possibil- ity of Cross Laminated Timber Construction for the building similar to that used in Lend Lease’s International House at Barangaroo. Dealer Principal Brad Worthington and Worthington Group CFO, Paul Russotti were in London to receive the Award of which only ten were handed out worldwide. The event, held in the famous Gherkin Building in London saw Mr Worthington presented with the Trophy from John Cooper Jnr (son of racing car driver John Cooper whose name is synonymous with the MINI brand). “We hold the award in the highest regard and it’s always top of mind to provide the very best service pos- sible and represent BMW and MINI in a professional manner,” said Mr Worthington. “I believe it’s a privilege to work with such a brand and we’re excited by what lies ahead with inno- vative new products on the way.” The Cooper Car Company is owned by BMW. In another first Mr Denny said, “We intend harvesting and storing solar power using the roof space available on the museum. We believe we have sufficient space to successful- ly generate and store enough power to oper- ate both buildings independent of the grid.” “Nothing like this has been done on the Central Coast before. We have a grand plan, and we have the space to execute it.” Commenting on the approval time for the project with the DA lodged in November Central Real CEO Richard Ellis said, “it is a credit to Council and in particular their for- ward thinking staff, they understand that we are creating employment opportunities, and turned the DA around swiftly”.
