Repairing The Breach

For ABM, the revelation of God comes to us through voices of suffering as they are discerned by the local church. It might be families struggling to put food on the table; women fleeing from violence; internally displaced people desperate for water; or people looking for skills to improve their own life and the life of their communities. Mission calls out from the margins. Repairing the Breach must begin with some humility about our own inadequate understanding and resources. If the vision of the scriptures and the prophets is to be realised, it will be God’s doing. Our role is to seek to discern what God is up to, and to be willing participants in God’s work of loving and saving the world (Lambeth Conference, 1998). Our hope comes from the guiding and animation of the Spirit who enables us fast and pray while working for love, hope and justice. Box 2 - Carol Aust 20
