They fol- lowed this by restating that rates are unlikely to rise before 2024, but this opinion is not shared by everyone. Many experts are predicting rates could rise in 2023 or possibly even next year. This is due to the economic recovery happening much quicker than expected. Although over the past 5-6 weeks some heat has definitely come out of the market, this was inevitable however the prices are still holding strong and have continued to increase slightly throughout the last quarter. Additionally clearance rates are still very healthy with an average of 87.2% across our core markets of Camberwelll, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East and Kew, but how much further the current market has to climb remains to be seen in times of economic uncertainty. For now though, the market remains in good health, and should do as long as rates and stock levels stay low.
