Local Heros - Cabana Cafe . 1. Why did you choose to open the Cabana Cafe in Copacabana? We started out at Cabana by coincidence. We had both just started recovering from our pacemaker surgery when a friend needed a hand in their café. I started in the kitchen and Josh in front of house. After a year, the opportunity came up for us to take over ownership of the business! The timing wasn’t great due to Covid, but we are so grateful for everyone in the community, they've treated us like we have been locals for our whole lives. 2. What’s the most popular item on the menu? What’s your personal favourite? Our main goal is supporting hard working locals with affordable meals locals with affordable meals. For me, it would have to Open Mon, Thurs, Fri & Weekends 7am - 1pm be our cheeseburger that does just that! The bakery is also very popular, freshly baked goods every morning! 3. Can you tell us more about Heart Research Australia and what your connection with your foundation is? Josh and I are the only brother under 25 in Australia to have pacemakers, our father passed away 12 years ago from SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) so we are dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Heart Research Australia. Come join us for Coffee, Treats & Baked goods. The staff of Cabana will be wearing red in February for the event Red Feb which raises awareness for Heart Research Australia.
