ACT - Canberra Commercial real estate markets will be buoyed by the ACT Government’s budget pledge of a $5 billion pipeline of local infrastructure projects that will be the backbone of the Territory’s economic recovery. With 250 projects and 14 ongoing programs of work already underway, the most significant infrastructure program in the history of the ACT public sector will support more than 15,300 construction jobs. “The spend will also underpin demand for commercial and industrial real estate in the Territory,” noted Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne. “The combination of the ACT’s population growth, a strong economy, and employment growth are driving demand for industrial land, which will help attract more industrial activity to the ACT,” said Angus. Over the next few years, 100,000 square metres of industrial land are set for release in four industrial estates across the ACT, including Fyshwick and Pialligo. 08 - Angus Raine angus.raine@corp.rh.com.au
