Shelter Real Estate

Market Summary With the first quarter now behind us for 2020, it is fair to say it has not all been smooth sailing. Public auctions are banned, inspections must be conducted on an individual basis and for a fleeting moment homes that were occupied (by tenants or owners) were unable to be opened for buyers to view. This decision was rightly overturned in a matter of days and as it stands, all private appointments are allowed for both occupied and vacant homes. Whilst everyone usually has an opinion about the right or wrong time to buy and sell, we have found an increasing number of clients less sure on what that time might now be. What we are confident on however, is that the fundamentals of societies requirement for shelter has not changed, nor will it. Although we cannot control external factors, we can control our processes and the way in which we work. Being a nimble and boutique firm, we have always prided ourselves on the ability to pivot and will continue to adapt as is required with the constant changes. Our uniqiue digital strategies have been key to delivering tangible value to those who choose to sell or rent with us, and it is these strategies and our heavy focus on tailored service that we feel will provide our clients homes the required advantage moving forward. In summary, while there are a reduced number of buyers actively searching for a home, we are finding there are still a number of those who are ready to buy if the right home is presented to them in the right way. Forced innovation and adapation will shape the future of our industry (for agents and owners alike) and we are confident that both parties will benefit from fast evolution in what has been an otherwise unchanged role since the invention of the internet.
