It seems everyone is talking about the property market and with good reason! Our beautiful Killcare Peninsula in particular has certainly been “discovered” in real estate terms over the recent months with some incredible prices being achieved in often a matter of days. Australia’s credit cycle has turned upwards, reflecting growing confidence and recovery in the economy. New lending for housing is around 44% above the pre-COVID level of a year ago. The resurgence of buyer interest in the property market and the recent auction clearance rates, which have been hovering around 80%, does suggest there are more buyers than sellers and this always leads to higher property prices. This increase in buyer numbers has resulted in the speed of the sale of property, as new stock is absorbed very quickly. Buyers are more educated and are moving with lightning speed if they see something they like; they have their finances in place and they are very determined right now. We see nothing on the horizon to suggest the current momentum will slow in the later part of 2021 and will more than likely continue into next year.
