The year in review 2019 was a year of immense change in the property market. The first half of the year experienced a continuation of the weaker market conditions that we’d seen throughout 2018. With the election out of the way, the banking royal commission winding up and interest rate cuts further reducing the cash rate to record lows, the second half of 2019 has presented signs of recovery, with renewed confidence in the market resulting in far more positive selling conditions. As a result of this, auction clearance rates have consistently sat at the 75%-85%+ range for much of the last 6months and we have started to see a number of above market, record prices being achieved again. A shortage of stock throughout the Upper North Shore has emphasised these enhanced selling conditions with buyers commenting that they are becoming frustrated with the limited number of purchasing options available to them. We predict that 2020 will bring a similar, more favourable selling conditions in line with what we have seen occur over the last 4- 6 months in the marketplace. After making the move to RayWhite in April of this year, my team and I are thrilled to be continuing to offer outstanding service to our clients across the Upper North Shore.
