How did that happen? We had some fun in May, starting with an outing to the Bassendean Railway Museum (and we hope to see some photos from that day entered in the June competition). It was such a fascinating place to wander through and read about the state’s railway history that I plum forgot to take lots of photos. Huge thanks to everyone who entered images to be judged for the APS competition in July, and thanks also those from the committee who volunteered to judge: Pat, Adam, Helena, Marlene, Dave Lester (and me). Of the 55 entries only 20 could be in the final selection, and it was a very tight call. See the full list of finalists on page 5. Good luck team FCC! The final will be in late July and most likely announced live online. And final news is that had a committee meeting this month and I’m happy to report that progress on track with the website upgrade and thanks to Adam who is managing it all. We are working hard to nail a weekend away, having lost an August booking in Dwellingup due to a double up. COVID-19 challenges are making it hard to find availability anywhere in WA but we’ll keep trying and if anyone has ideas let us know. In the meantime watch your emails for more outings and activities, some might be last-minute, ad-hoc, weather-permitting get- togethers! The club meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Tuesday of every month (except January) at the North Fremantle Community Hall: 4 Thompson Road, North Fremantle (Harvest Road end). See the map at the bottom of our home page: www. fremantlecameraclub.com. The first Tuesday is an educational evening and the third Tuesday is competition night. In addition there are social outings organised to improve and share our photography skills. See information in this month’s Freographic and on the website. Guests are always welcome.
