FREO GRAPHIC Oct/Nov 2021 5 2022 Club Subjects Fremantle Camera Club FEBRUARY Documentary An image showing any scene taken in or at a market that has been photographed indoors or outside. APRIL Architecture/Mono A picture of the entrance to a building or enclosure. The inclusion of a closing device is optional. The presence of a person may be included but must not be the dominant feature. JUNE Nature An image in which the dominant content is associated with Autumn and is a double exposure created in camera or in post production. AUGUST Landscape (The Grace Munday) An image depicting some aspect of the weather e.g. storm [actual or impending] rain, hail, snow, fog or wind with a tree as the main subject. Normal sunny conditions or the aftermath are not acceptable OCTOBER Abstract An abstract image. Abstract photography is a method of expressing ideas and emotions with photographed image elements without the intention of creating a traditional or realistic image. By avoiding and going beyond the usual representations of an object, scene, or any particular element, it reveals details that are normally ignored and triggers the viewer’s imagination. MARCH Nature A photograph of any animal, reptile, bird, fish, insect, spider or crustacean (animal has to be alive). No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging/burning. MAY Portrait Any image which depicts love or affection between human beings or other creatures or between both, illustrating companionship, dependence, trust or any other facet of a loving or affectionate relationship. JULY Documentary Street Photography - A subject lit by light not provided by or under the control of the photographer nor set up specifically for photographic purposes. (e.g. a picture taken in low-level ambient light in which no supplementary light is added by the photographer). SEPTEMBER Architecture/Mono A picture featuring steps or stairs either indoors or outdoors. NOVEMBER Documentary Any subject [including people] photographed in Fremantle. The subject must be seen to be by virtue of appearance, style or use local to Fremantle. Competition nights are held the third Tuesday of each month.
