See the map at the bottom of our home page: www. fremantlecameraclub.com. The first Tuesday is an educational evening and the third Tuesday is competition night. In addition there are social outings organised to improve and share our photography skills. See information in this month’s Freographic and on the website. Guests are always welcome. Become a club member today! President’s Report We pay tribute to Ivor Metlinzky, one of our most treasured and long-time members, who passed away this month. The news came as quite a shock to most of us and he will certainly be missed. Lawrie Beilin has written a beautiful eulogy (page 3) which reveals so much more about the Ivor we knew and admired for his amazing photography. We are planning to present a visual tribute to Ivor at our next meeting and I have sent a condolence card to the family on behalf of club members. Coming up on Sunday 15 November is our Freo Ports’ Fremantle Passenger Terminal Then and Now event from 9am-2pm. The committee is calling for volunteers to form a FCC group to stroll around the terminal running ‘live’ workshops using models in period costume (50s, 60s and 70s) and encourage visitors to use their cameras and smart phones to improve their portrait and street photography skills. Please contact Rhonda or me asap if you’d like to be an ‘instructor’ or a model, or just come along as part of a Fremantle Camera Club outing. We need to know numbers and we need to know what times you prefer: 1-2 hours each would be fine and if we can get at least 6 people that should cover most of the day. It will be a lot of fun to get behind the scenes at the passenger terminal. See page 7 for more information. The 2021 subject selection will be finalised in November and the committee will distribute the list to everyone at the Presentation night /Christmas party on 1 December. And on that note, it’s lovely to feel that spring has sprung and summer is around the corner. October 2020 Issue Jane Fraser President
