Become a club member today! We have some serious celebrating to do this month with a number of club members receiving awards for their work. Huge congratulations to Jan Robinson for being the most successful photographer overall, and from WA, in the 2021 Royal Perth Show Photography competition. Jan topped the number of entries and her image Landing Approach was top of the list. Jan also got second place in Australian Rural Life category and a merit in the Creative/Altered Reality category. Other very notable achievements at the Royal Show were Pat Halloran’s first place in the Creative/Altered Reality category with his High Priestess image, and third place to Adam Smalley in the same category with his image Distinguished Gentleman. Jeff Spickett received two merits in the Australian Rural Life category with Looks Good to Me and Ready for Action. I hope you’ve had a chance to see the exhibition. Apparently the hall was buzzing. I was lucky enough to help out hanging the prints and so I got a sneak preview of all winners and acceptances. Congratulations to the many Fremantle Camera Club members whose prints were on show. The 2021 WAPF Print West Competition awarded third place to Adam Smalley for his stunning image Majestic. While Fremantle Camera Club didn’t place, we’ll try again next year because it’s always great to be involved. Jurien Bay Camera Club will be hosting in 2022 so start planning! See you all on 12 October (note new date) for our next education night with Clinton Bradbury sports photographer. Should be action packed with good tips for the next club competition.
