These projects are in desperate need of additional veterinary assistance many having little or no access to veterinarians who can treat and care for the animals in their communities. • VBB VetTrain – A new and exciting phase is being planned for 2018 to develop ‘training hubs’ in selected overseas venues. A pool of volunteer vet trainers with relevant post-graduate qualifications will deliver short-course intensive training on a range of topics. • VBB Community Awareness Program promotes community appreciation of the importance of the close association between animals and humans and the need to be kind to animals. Community-based education teaching how to behave around animals and how to minimise the risk of rabies infection in rabies endemic areas.
