CAUCUSES C A UNION IS ITS MEMBERS 30 In order to ensure the demands and needs of those most commonly sidelined are prioritised and represented, RAFFWU established caucuses in 2020. These caucuses created a space for members of particular demographics to discuss the issues that specifically face them — both in the workplace, and more broadly in society. From this space, RAFFWU will be able to take direction from its members about their wants and needs to make sure they are best represented in our action. For a short period, we have not had dedicated organising support for our caucuses. In 2023, we decided that needed to change and we have appointed June back into the Caucus Organising work they successfully started in 2020. The caucuses of RAFFWU are: • Queer Caucus; • Womens' Caucus; • Young Workers Caucus; and • Disabled Workers Caucus. We are also looking to build and launch: • First Nation’s Workers Caucus; and • Workers of Colour Caucus. If you would like to be part of a caucus and join in on the incredible work of members in this space please fill out an expression of interest form on the website — raffwu.org.au/caucus or reach out to our Caucus Organiser, June at caucus@raffwu.org.au
