CAST LEWIS NICHOLSON Billy Elliot Lewis was born to perform. Four years ago, he walked into his local dance studio eager to learn. Enrolling in a contemporary dance class, he showed so much passion that he was doing every class he could within weeks. To pursue his dance study, two years ago he moved to Newcastle and currently trains with the National College of Dance in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, acrobatics and hip hop. As a student of the Hunter School of Performing Arts, he has had the opportunity to perform as a featured dancer in the NSW Dept. of Education’s Star Struck, as well as in Madagascar: A Musical Adventure. Lewis regularly competes in the NSW State of Dance competition. Billy Elliot the Musical is Lewis’ debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. FERGUS PATERSON Billy Elliot Fergus is a passionate dancer, singer and actor. He has performed in more than 10 musicals, playing his first role at age 8, as Gaston in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. with Palm Studios. Since then, Lewis has played lead roles in Gosford Musical Society’s Disney’s Aladdin JR., School of Rock and Disney’s Frozen JR. Most recently, Fergus was thrilled to land the major lead of Spongebob in The Spongebob Musical. Dance was Fergus’s first passion, beginning lessons at age 7. Six of those years were spent with Studio M on the Central Coast and, more recently, with Darren Disney Dance. He loves all styles, but especially contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip hop and acro. He also sings with Toni Williams Singing Studios in Gosford. Billy Elliot the Musical is Fergus’ debut with The Very Popular Theatre Company. 24
