The Energy Savings Scheme( ESS) was established in July 2009 and will con�nue un�l at least 2025. The main objec�ve of the scheme is to assist businesses to reduce electricity costs and consump�on. Energy savings cer�ficates (ESC) are the “currency” of the scheme. This scheme is open to Commercial and Industrial buildings only and is applica- ble to exis�ng fixtures and lamps. Businesses that save energy by installing, improving or replacing energy savings equipment can gain financial incen�ves by par�cipa�ng in the scheme.
