Drinking at Hotel Dorrigo from 1925 to 1980s When the Hotel Dorrigo was built, the custom was that only men were allowed in the public bar. The diagram below shows the large area enclosed by the bar for the bar staff. Outside the bar there was standing room for the men drinking in the bar. Separate from the bar area was a Ladies Lounge where women could sit and drink. The lounge also had a fireplace for warmth.
