Questions you may wish to consider (Or you may choose to totally ignore these questions and make up a new set that suits you and your context. Be brave.) • Can you remember a time when someone really listened to you; a time when you felt truly seen? What was that experience like? • Can you remember a time when God met you in your brokenness and helped you to find a way back to a greater fullness of life? • How would you feel if someone seemed to know all your secrets? • When you pray, are you able to be completely honest with God or do you try and pretend that God doesn’t really know who you are? • Do we need to carry the shame of every mistake or injury we’ve suffered – or do we trust God to love us and forgive us and release us into something new? • Many of us feel the shame and hurt of being judged by others, but many of us are also swift to judge. Why can it be easier to leap to judgement than to acceptance or forgiveness? • What do you think of the way Jesus speaks with the woman? Is he judgmental? • What changes for the woman in the story? • What has changed for you since you met Jesus? 68
