2 ICRAV 2026 Challenges in Human Anti-Doping Dr Naomi Speers is the Research & Strategic Projects Lead at Sport Integrity Australia (SIA). For the past 10 years, Naomi led the Science and Medicine functions at SIA. Previous to this Naomi led the Chemical Trace Evidence team at the Australian Federal Police Forensic Services. Naomi has served on World Anti-Doping Agency’s Strategic Testing Expert Group and Laboratory Expert Group. In her current role, Naomi leads SIA’s research strategy and engagement. The research program spans the breath of SIA’s remit in sport integrity with Naomi’s expertise being in the Anti-Doping sphere. Dr Naomi Speers Sport Integrity Australia, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Anti-doping is a complex and challenging threat to sport, both human and animal. Anti-Doping in human sport is facing some significant challenges currently. Some of these will be discussed looking at what is the challenge, how is or could it be addressed, and potential opportunities for collaboration. These challenges include: • Enhancing athlete-centred methodologies • Harmonisation • Unintentional doping • Interpreting low detections • Contamination • Identification of new substances ABSTRACT
