They're exclusive, they're powerful, they're stunningly gorgeous The SP1, a single-seater, and the SP2, a two-seater, evoke the spirit and design of Ferrari's barchettas of the '40s and 50s. monza SP1 & SP2 The SP1 and SP2 are the first vehicles of a new class of Ferraris called "Icona." These icon cars bring the past into the present in the form of limited-edition specialty craftworks made for high-status clients and collectors. At an approximate cost of €1.4M ex tax, only 499 will be made. The Monza's V12 naturally aspirated engine is the most powerful Ferrari has ever created. Using technology taken from Formula 1 engines, it makes 799 horsepower at a hair-raising 8,500- rpm and 719 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are inspired by barchettas of the 1950s . The first ever Ferrari to be referred to as a barchetta was the open- top version of the 1948 166 MM. The name was coined by Giovanni Agnelli who, upon seeing the car for the first time at the Turin Motor Show that year, commented that it was less like a car and more like a barchetta, referring to the Italian for a small speed boat.
