What do you think is the key into exceptional level of customer service in the Coffee industry? “We are in the people business, not the coffee business.” Passion and people are key to exceptional customer service. People buy from and interact with people and this experience is what makes all the difference. It drives our customer’s emotional connection to our brand. I am privileged to be surrounded by a very passionate team that strive to surpass customer expectations. What is your vision for Di Bella Coffee for the next 12 – 18 months? “To be the world’s leading manufacturing and distributing coffee company who exceeds our customers’ expectations and deliver greatness in the detail with the right coffee for the right audience at the right price.” Q&A AQuick W I T H P H I L In 2014, through a share price agreement, Phil handed over the reins of his business to a new leadership team equally committed to its continued success. Since that time, he has continued to be actively involved in the wider coffee industry and has also played a small role as an external business consultant consulting back to Di Bella Coffee. Now he has returned to the helm of Di Bella Coffee operations to contribute his entrepreneurial expertise, customer centric approach and business acumen with the Di Bella Coffee Team. “Since its inception Di Bella Coffee has earnt the respect and appreciation of coffee lovers across the country. I am excited to be back on board to continue that legacy.” Di Bella Coffee is Australia’s leading coffee roaster and supports ethical and sustainable producers. These relationships provide access to the world’s finest coffees and allows the business to showcase their artisan roasting capabilities and bring premium coffee to the barista. This collaboration between coffee farmers, Di Bella Coffee roasters and baristas is an important ingredient in delivering on the brand’s promise – Greatness is in the Detail. Di Bella Coffee has a global footprint with roasting facilities in Australia, NZ and USA. While Australia is well established and the business has a strong hold in manufacturing and distributing coffee across many channels, the next journey for the business is having a coffee solution for all markets and consumers globally. “Today the group is so much more than I ever imagined it might become, and I look forward to actively working with the amazing Di Bella team again.” Guided by the brand’s clear vision, The Greatness is in the Detail, Phil Di Bella is planning to take Di Bella Coffee as new Executive Chair to the next level of Greatness.
