M E N ' S C U L T U R E 47 I failed a lot of things when I practiced but needed to figure out how to improve, and then try again and again. After many mistakes, I found new techniques and how to win, which are strategies for competition. It is not easy. It was so much suffering about training, mentality. But I got an amazing experience from the competition. This is the most important thing about how to achieve a goal also "grow up, don't give up and keep learning". I always say that to myself. When I prepare for the competition, I am really focused on myself. I don't care about other thinking. Focus on one thing. Second I need to make a plan for how to practice coffee side and mental side. I do exercise every day as well, it is good for mental and physical. I feel like I am an athlete sometimes. For the up and coming baristas and latte artists out there, what advice would you give them that could help them progress and develop their own latte art skills? It is not just latte art because there are many things needed for a cup of coffee, for example, hospitality, cleanness, and consistency of making coffee. So, I think baristas need to take care of both taste of coffee and beauty of latte art. However, I would like to say please keep learning and keep challenging new things even if it's failed, try different way and find out the solution until fix it. That's why I never stop learning. Also, I would love to share my knowledge and skills for everyone in the world also contribute to society. To pour such intricate and beautiful latte art you must enjoy the creative process, what do you enjoy most about latte art and where do you go to get inspired to create new pours ? I am always thinking new approaches and new ideas for latte art from other views. I often go to the museum to get new inspiration. In my opinion, latte art makes customers happy and the good way to attract people to get interested in coffee. Making people happy is my motivation for making delicious and beautiful coffee. I GO BY THE NAME OF “SAMURAI SHIN”, RUNNING A BARISTA TRAINING SCHOOL, CONSULTATION PROGRAM WORKING ALONGSIDE ST. ALI AND PRODUCING BRANDED MERCHANDISE SUCH AS TOTE BAGS, COFFEE CUPS, AND THE ‘KATANA’ MILK JUG. I am always thinking new approaches and new ideas for latte art from other views. I OFTEN GO TO MUSEUM TO GET NEW INSPIRATION. shinsaku_samurai
