M E N ' S C U L T U R E 9 W hen did your love of cars start? I think probably in the womb...my mum and dad were avid car enthusiasts and collected cars of different brands over the years. They were also active drivers on the racetrack. My first childhood recollection of being interested in cars was when I was about 5 years of age and I would receive my pocket money each week. I would save up, hop on my bike, ride to the newsagency on that exact day the Motor magazines arrived. In those days it was Modern Motor &Wheels magazine that was being delivered and I would be ready to hand over my hard earned money even before the newsagent owner was unpacking the magazines. I used to help him unpack, as I wanted to be the first person to get a copy of that fresh, crisp, beautiful smelling magazine. I would read it cover to cover, I knew every car, every statistic and then of course, my bedroom was covered in those days, with a centrefold of a different type of car. That’s when my love affair with Ferrari began. In those days it was the first Supercar, the F40 as well as a couple of other brands but I really loved the Ferrari F40 and the Testarossa - they were my first recollections...still feels like it was yesterday. What’s your experience working with Ferrari? Firstly, my experience with Ferrari started actually as an owner at 26 years old - I didn’t own a home, I saved up enough money with some help from my parents and bought a 355 GTS, brand new from then dealers Scuderia Veloce Motors. So my first experience with Ferrari was as a customer. I suppose that puts me in a good WE BELIEVE IN THE VISION, BEING HUMBLE, AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH REALLY EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE.
