10 Driving / operating machinery Patients are advised not to drive or use machinery when taking medical cannabis. THC can have an effect which could cause impairment and cannabis can stay in the system for several days after the last dose, meaning patients may run the risk of positive drug tests in the workplace or roadside police testing. Travel Domestic travel with medical cannabis in Australia is permitted and it is recommended you have a copy of your prescription with you to present to any officials if required. If you are travelling internationally with medical cannabis you need to check the legality of medical cannabis in all countries you plan to visit as well as those you are transiting through (including stop-overs). Possession of medical cannabis is not legal in all countries. Most cruise ship operators do not permit medical cannabis on-board, even for domestic travel, please check with your cruise ship operator for more details.
