CO-CURRICULAR 177 ST PATRICK’S COLLEGE STRATHFIELD LUMEN 2024 FOOTBALL The 2024 Football Season has been a significant journey of progress, camaraderie, and success. These three elements are core to the charisma of St Patrick’s Football. SPC were able to succeed in the Independent Sporting Association (ISA) this year, with many of our younger teams finishing their season with knockout football, and for some, ending the season as ISA Premiers in their respective divisions. SPC were able to send 15 teams to the Grand Finals, and subsequently winning 11 of them. A tremendous achievement given that many of our teams were playing up a division. A just reward for the hard work and dedication that that these teams displayed. In relation to individual honours in 2024, Sebastian Lombardo, Jake Nasr, Samuel Pilarinos and Liam La Rossa were selected in the U/16s ISA Football Team. In the Opens competition Habib Ghosn was selected in the Opens ISA Football Team for a second consecutive year. At St Patrick’s College, we are fortunate enough to have an abundance of experience, commitment and talent amongst our many staff members and external coaches that devote much of their time to the development of Football at SPC. A very special thanks must go to our Head of Football, Mr Jason Falzon, who has raised the standard and level of Football at our College. He has worked tirelessly to support our coaches and improve the development of our players. Mr Falzon has laid a clear foundation which promotes growth, camaraderie, and success and will continue to do so in the coming years. Mr Falzon has also reintroduced a Football tour to the UK and Spain, which will take place in 2025 and will be an exciting opportunity for our players. A sincere thank you to Dr Vittoria Lavorato, Mr Anthony Calavassy and Mr Samuel Boggs for their continual support and work throughout the season, to ensure that our high standards and expectations were met. A special note of gratitude goes out to the parents, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in making this season a success. Your encouragement, dedication, and presence on the sidelines have not gone unnoticed. I would like to express my gratitude to the young men of St Patrick’s College. Your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment have made this season a resounding success. I look forward to seeing you all on the field in 2025.
