Favourite thing about running your business? The community - I’ve gained so many friends and really integrated with the community so much since I started. Most memorable business highlight? Winning ‘excellence in micro business’ at last year’s Western NSW business awards. What advice would you give to another regional business woman who’s just starting out? Don’t be afraid to do things differently - be weird, be loud, be a change maker, and don’t worry about doing the things you *should* do - just do the things that light you up. ___ @pebblypath_rockyroad pebblypath.com.au ANNIE ROBINSON Annie is the woman behind Stitched For Good, a sustainably focussed, slow fashion business creating modern, adaptable and customisable sewing patterns. What inspired you to start Stitched For Good? I have been sewing since I was a kid and always made my own clothes. After school, I started working in the industry, then started a custom dressmaking business and a fashion label. These did not light me up as much as I had hoped, which is when I realised my passion was in helping others create their own fashion. What do you love about running your business? I love being able to share my knowledge of fashion design and garment construction as it seems to be a dying art. Most fashion institutes are in the cities so being able to share my knowledge to the wider community, especially rural areas, make me feel as though I am doing something worthwhile. What’s on the horizon for 2024?
