team at PBCS to keep on practising love as they teach their students. The school is now much more known in the community. As the school prepares to move to its new site (‘the new flat site’ they will remind anyone who asks), the sincerity of the staff continues to bring the presence of Christ to the people of Muswellbrook. Care and Community in Christ As the school has grown, a critical heartbeat of this school has stayed constant – the people there were committed at the beginning and are still committed to serving the students (and their families) and bringing glory to God. The staff saw this heartbeat continue as they became part of a new family of schools, a new community. How has the original story continued? One grandparent noted that the PGOCS also carries a well-known heart for the Gospel of Christ expressed through its commitment to structuring their activities to include the often marginalised within education. This heart is also expressed through its invitation to service within its schools, and beyond its schools into the local community. This heart is shown, as one staff member expressed it, by ‘bringing the God element to front of mind’. The new tradition of all staff meeting for devotions at the beginning of the day was one way that this renewed ‘God-focus’ strengthened both the existing team and new members. These devotions include time dedicated to praying for each student and their family. The students at the school know that care is still at the centre – and it is care grounded in Christ. Each family receives the benefit of the ‘small school’ care, while knowing they are benefitting from the support, resources and knowledge which come from being part of the larger Group of Schools. PBCS staff appreciate being a part of this family of schools. They feel supported in their vision of what ongoing development as a Christian community delivering quality Christian education can look like. This has enabled the
