Sculptures in the Garden

26 91 - Mark Booth (Merriwa) Title - 75.150-88° (60 x 215 x 100cm) Materials - PVC pipe, nylon screws, low sheen acrylic paint Price - $8,750 Artist’s Statement - The sinuous form and camouflaged skin of 75.150-88° obliquely references nature. However, its objectification in an exhibition context renders it completely artificial, highlighting the juxtaposition of imitation and the organic and disguising it, paradoxically, in a conspicuous manner. 92 - Jayne Blake (Mudgee) Title - Inverse relationships x2 (88 x 80 x 4cm) Materials - Wood, paint Price - $600 (Each) Artist’s Statement - This work plays with opposite colour and movement across two panels. The inverse colour relationship changes with cast shadows viewed from different standpoints. 93 - Birgit Heinemann (Brighton-Le-Sands) Title - Angus (34 x 30 x 15cm) Materials - Mixed media skull on metal frame (wall hanging) Price - $560 Artist’s Statement - Cows are gentle and strong animals. Angus was one of them and “a part of him” is brought back to life ... 94 - Julianne Abercrombie (North Willoughby) Title - Downward Facing Dog (100 x 30 x 100cm) Materials - Sisal rope Price - $650 Artist’s Statement - “Downward Facing Dog” is a sisal rope sculpture inspired by the ritual morning stretch enjoyed by my Bernese Mountain Dog “Bongo”. I hope to have captured his joyful pose. The sculpture took a labour intensive six months to complete. 95 - Matthew Harvie (Murrumbateman) Title - Wooden it be Nice (200 x 170 x 170cm) Materials - Timber, steel and polyurethane Price - $25,000 Artist’s Statement - Made from timber off-cuts, to turn potential firewood into something useful. A skin of over 4000 pieces arranged in a non- symmetrical fashion over a mild steel frame. Then sanded and sealed to highlight the timbers natural beauty.
