Sculptures in the Garden

53 226 - Ellenore Griffith (Kirribilli) Title - Catch Me If You Can (53 x 100 x 30cm) Materials - Welded mild steel sand blasted, powder coated Price - $3,200 Artist’s Statement - This red sculpture has a grounded main body with an extension into the beyond. There is a small piece of steel not attached to the main body – somewhat escaping – but where to or to what. A sometime wish within us all. 227 - Amanda Harrison (Greenwich) Title - Unearthed (36 x 20 x 16cm) Materials - Ceramic Price - $560 Artist’s Statement - The parents watch over the child, loving and secure. The earthy colours of the group suggest strength and security, while the lines suggest the contours of a landscape of weathered stones, ancient and unmoving. 228 - Adam Humphreys (Duri) Title - Mother (93 x 50 x 40cm) Materials - Steel and concrete Price - $5,000 Artist’s Statement - A tribute to mothers throughout the world, the sacrifice that they go through and the joy they bring. To be able to make humans, is a gift to be celebrated, along with the shape of the process. This shape, this beauty. 229 - Adam Humphreys (Duri) Title - Drinking Horse 1 ( 50 x 25 x 33cm) Materials - Cast bronze, Ironbark base Price - $6,500 (Edition: 1/24) Artist’s Statement - There are no straight lines synonymous with horses yet the beauty, strength and finesse can be captured in such an angular way. This is what I wanted to achieve with this sculpture and to do the original in mild steel makes it even more of a challenge. 230 - Adam Humphreys (Duri) Title - Clancy of the Overflow (30 x 20 x 40cm) Materials - Cast bronze, Ironbark base Price - $5,000 (Edition 1/24) Artist’s Statement - Inspired by AB Patterson’s verses, the story of this cowboy can be clearly read in his bow legged step and his weathered demeanor. It’s been a long day for both but the bond remains strong.
