Bruce Tosello Chief Customer & Market Engagement Officer Listening to and understanding our customer – the person who chooses Sunnyfield, and not always the person who receives the support service – is critical in ensuring we have the programs and services that are needed, and that they are available when and where they are wanted. In most cases we have good communication between our customers, clients and staff at a local level. So we are going to build on this to develop a customer experience program across all of Sunnyfield. We want to use this information to identify programs and services that customers will find valuable but can’t access today. And we want to know what we should be doing more of, or less of. While we will launch our customer experience program soon, we always want to hear from customers. Today you can use the feedback link on our website, or talk to your local Manager. I would like to say a big thanks to all the staff who support clients, your efforts are greatly appreciated. So what are your goals this year? Would you like to try something new? Continue something you have been doing for a while? Or encourage a friend or family to join you? This is ultimately being in control to make choices. Remember having choice and control is about people with disability, their families and carers having control over the course of their lives, including the flexibility to make decisions about the disability services and supports they use. At Sunnyfield we believe this is the cornerstone of living life with dignity. 2 Andrew Hyland Chief Executive Officer It is five months since my appointment as Sunnyfield CEO, and I must firstly acknowledge the great work the Sunnyfield community have delivered over the past 71 years. It is humbling and inspiring. Sunnyfield’s mission to enrich the lives of people with disability by creating choice, opportunities and skills for life is at the centre of what we do, and it is something I reflect on each day to make sure what we do is making a difference in the lives of the people we support. For me personally, ensuring the human rights of people with disability are protected and enabled is the reason I work in this sector. It is a great honour and privilege to lead Sunnyfield, and with your support and trust we can build on these great foundations. What we do would not be possible without the commitment, skills and passion of our people. I have met many of our team members delivering service, and every time I am in awe of the work they do. Our team members come to work every day because they care about the people we support. This is more than a job, it is a vocation. It is inspiring to see our team in action, living the values and supporting clients to live their best lives every day. I also want to recognise the team members not directly involved in service delivery, the people who pay the bills, pay the wages, support the technology, maintain the properties, write the stories and create services, fundraise, recruit and train our employees, and make sure we are compliant with regulatory requirements. This group of people are critical to making sure our service is the best it can be, and I would like to acknowledge they too come to work each day to make a difference in your lives. Now that I have had the opportunity to meet many clients, family members and team members, I can talk a little about the future. We have very strong foundations, and our priority is to build on them to continually improve the quality of our service. Improved quality of service means doing things better tomorrow than we do today; offering more options for you to choose; and ensuring we are listening to you about how you are feeling about the services you receive and how you receive them. The big thing I want to do more of is more listening to you and including you more in how we make decisions. That is the best way for us to improve our service. I really encourage you to participate in the different ways to be included and provide your input.
