2025-26 CENTRAL COAST INVESTMENT PROSPECTUS 10 Central Coast Local Health District Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is responsible for the total management of Gosford, Wyong and Woy Woy public hospitals, healthcare centres across the region. CCLHD employs a workforce of 8,000 people or 5,950 FTE. Significantly their workforce retention rate for 2023-24 was 90.6% Other opportunities in a health and education precinct is Clinical Trials. Clinical trials feature in most of the Sydney precincts and would provide the Central Coast community with greater access to clinical trials, Gosford Health Hub The Cornerstone Group is developing a $75 million Gosford Health Hub, a multi-level facility adjacent to Gosford Hospital, aimed at integrating primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services. This hub, part of the Health Hubs network, is designed to improve healthcare accessibility and efficiency by bringing various services under one roof The Gosford Health Hub will be built and operated by the Cornerstone Group which builds and operates health hubs in NSW Queensland and ACT. The 6,600sqm, five-level health hub will cater for the significant growth in healthcare demand in the Gosford area. When opened, following a two-year build, the Hub will cater for a large GP Practice, pharmacy and pathology, diagnostic imaging, day procedure unit, oncology services, a fertility services provider, allied health and specialist consulting along with other health and medical operators. Gosford Private Hospital While not in the Gosford CBD, only a few minutes away is Gosford Private Hospital operated by Healthe Care Australia. Established some 40 years ago this hospital in late 2021 completed a $32 million expansion. Gosford Private employs a staff of 700 health and administrative personnel. Within this precinct and adjacent to the hospital is Jarrett Street Specialist Centre, North Gosford Medical Centre and the Gosford Private Consulting Suites. Education University of Newcastle Complementing UON’s Clinical School and Research Institute for Integrated Care adjacent to Gosford Hospital is their new Gosford Campus. With construction to be completed by late 2025 the Gosford Campus will start accepting students for the first semester on 2026. UON expects to enroll up to 3,000 students in the first semester. Subjects and programs to be offered include: Business, Education and Social Sciences. TAFE NSW Gosford Campus Located in the heart of Gosford the TAFE Campus offers courses in Engineering and Metal Trades and Electrotechnology and HVAC Trades. ADVANCED MANUFACTURING The Central Coast is home to over 1,000 manufacturers across diverse sectors from small to large successfully competing in the national and global marketplace. These businesses employ some 9,000 people. Major employment sectors are: Pharmaceuticals, Cleaning products, Fabricated and structural metal products, Relocatable homes, Furniture, Building products including kitchens, frames and trusses, windows and doors, modular bathrooms, concrete panels and pipes, Mining Equipment, Precision machining, Filtration products, Industrial and agricultural chemicals, Packaging and Paper products. National and international businesses While most are locally owned businesses there is a core of national and foreign owned companies based in the region. Many have embraced Advanced Manufacturing technologies to improve their products and processes. Manufacturers on the Central Coast are supported by a strong support and networking organisation, Central Coast Industry Connect (CCIC).
