2025-26 CENTRAL COAST INVESTMENT PROSPECTUS 31 Education and Training Tertiary education and skills training in the region is provided through the University of Newcastle’s Central Coast Campus, TAFE NSW Central Coast Campuses and the Central Coast Community College, all of which work closely with industry and the business community to develop customised courses to satisfy specific workplace needs. University of Newcastle The University of Newcastle is one of Australia’s top regional universities and was among the world’s Top 200 universities in the prestigious 2024 QS World University Rankings being ranked 129. Ourimbah Campus Established in 1995, the University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus offers world-class teaching, learning and research for students with a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research programs. The Campus provides opportunities to work closely with industry and represents the University’s commitment to working with local businesses to teach students ‘on the job’ as a reinforcement and enhancement of the theories from the classroom. Specialist programs in Oral Health Therapy, Podiatry, Food Science and Human Nutrition, and Exercise and Sports Science are offered on the Central Coast Campus. Additional offerings include a Bachelor of Coastal and Marine Science and an innovative Bachelor of Public and Community Health. Other disciplines offered include education, nursing, business, commerce, IT, social work and humanities. Central Coast Clinical School, and Central Coast Research Institute for Integrated Care Central Coast Clinical School, and Central Coast Research Institute for Integrated Care In 2021 the University of Newcastle opened their $72.5 million Central Coast Clinical School and Central Coast Research Institute adjacent to the recently redeveloped Gosford Hospital Precinct. Built on a shared vision to transform the Central Coast Region into a world-leader in healthcare, education, research and innovation the Clinical School provides over 850 places for students to complete their medicine, nursing and midwifery degrees while the Research Institute undertakes transactional research into developing and delivering new models of integrated care. Gosford Campus University of Newcastle Gosford Campus nearing completion (photo taken September 2025) Construction of the University of Newcastle’s new $63.8 million Central Coast Campus at 305 Mann Street in Gosford will be completed by end 2025 and will open with the first student intake in the first semester of 2026. Subjects and programs to be offered include: Business, Education and Social Sciences. TAFE NSW TAFE NSW operates campuses at Gosford, Wyong and Ourimbah with many courses offering pathways into the University of Newcastle. TAFE’s Gosford and Wyong Campuses offers courses in: Business Administration, Accounting and Bookkeeping, Commercial Cookery, Hospitality Management, Information Technology, Construction, Carpentry, Horticulture, Metal Trades, Plumbing and Electrical Trades. In early 2025 a new $4.9 million state-of-the-art Animal Studies Training Centre at TAFE NSW Wyong was opened offering courses in in animal care and veterinary nursing. Central Coast Community College The Central Coast Community College is located on the Ourimbah Campus providing pathways to employment, career advancement and career changes. Many of the courses offered by the College lead to pathways into TAFE and University of Newcastle studies.
