The region’s population has grown from 330,377 in 2014. Age groups In terms of age groups 21.6% of the population are aged 0-17 years, 49.7% are aged 18-59 years and over 60s make up 28.7% of the population compared with NSW 27.1%. Income On the Central Coast the median weekly household income in 2021 was $1,534 compared with $1,849 for NSW. Those earning more than $2,000 per week accounted for 9.7% of the working age population (15+) while 33.5% earned less than $500 per week. Housing tenure Of the 138,170 households, 46,044 were fully owned, and 45,024 were being bought. The median weekly mortgage repayment was $461 per week compared with $1,849 for NSW ECONOMIC PROFILE Gross Regional Product For the 2023/24 Financial Year Gross Regional Product on the Central Coast was $20,800 million. In the years 2001 to 2015 GRP flatlined at just under $15,000 million and, except for 2020, has been steadily rising since.
