Record Investment COMMERCIALAND INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENT Sara Lee Who is investing in the region? The Central Coast and in particular Gosford City is experiencing an unprecedented investment boom as investors, property developers and businesses looking to relocate from Sydney see the benefits that the region has to offer in terms of growth and security. At the same time the NSWGovernment is spending over a billion dollars on infrastructure projects in the region. CSR Hebel CSR Hebel is Australia’s leading manufacturer of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) and is located in the Somersby Industrial Estate having established the first AAC production facility in Australia in 1990. Owned by CSR Limited, CSR Hebel in 2020 completed a $75 million expansion of their Somersby operation with a new 10,000 sqm factory building and installation of the world’s most advanced and highly automated leading edge equip- ment in mid-2019. Henry Kendall Group The Henry Kendall Group have over 60 years’ experience in property development and are developing the Golflinks Commercial Campus which comprises 14 hectares of land on the Pacific Highway opposite the Wyong Golf Course adjacent to the industrial area. Nexus - The centerpiece of this Campus is Nexus, a next generation work space combing 2,500 sqm of the best of serviced offices and co-working facilities. HKG completed a an additional 500 square metres extension of the Nexus Business Hub. The new space incorporates a mix of workstations, meeting rooms, serviced offices and a café. As part of the expansion Nexus also upgraded their internet connection from 1 gigabyte to 10 gigabytes. Borg Group Borg Group is a leading Australian manufacturer of melamine panels and components for all joinery applications based at Somersby. The company employs over 2,000 staff nationally and 850 on the Central Coast. In early 2021 Borg Group acquired 19 hectares of land at Mount Penang adjacent to their Somersby operations from the Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC), a NSW Government agency, that owns and operates the Mount Penang Parklands. Global bakery brand, Sara Lee, opened its Australian facility at Lisarow near Gosford in 1971. Owned by McCain Foods since 1999, the company has invested $40 million in new technology and plant over the past five years. In September 2021 New Zealand investment company, The South Island Office Limited (SIO) acquired Sara Lee Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd from McCain Foods.
