2024–2025 Ram Selling Season Tops of the Season RICHMOND Interstate buyers snapped up the top-priced ram at the Richmond Merino stud annual on-property sale at Quandialla on Tuesday 1 October 2024. Richmond 230080 was purchased by Bradley Schroeder, Gunalla Poll Merinos, Pinnaroo, SA, and Bruce Pengilly, Penrose Poll Merinos, Lort River, WA, for $24,000. The sale topper was an August 2023-drop with a fibre diameter of 17.4-micron. It was a son of Hill Padua 211050. In the breakdown, 101 of 120 rams were sold to average $2272. ROSEVILLE PARK A full clearance of rams was achieved at the Roseville Park Merino and Poll Merino studs annual on-property sale, held on Thursday 19 September 2024. The Coddington family offered 210 Merino and Poll Merino rams, which sold to a top of $22,000 and average of $3178. The top ram was Poll Merino sire RP23-0062, which sold to Rodger and Luke Mathews, Borambil, Corowa. A son of RP190072, it weighed in at 103kg with a 17.5-micron fleece. The top Merino ram was another son of RP19-0072 and made $20,000, purchased by Rosewood Farming, Dubbo. It weighed 118kg with a 16.8-micron wool. LACHLAN MERINO The 19th annual Lachlan Merinos on-property sale, held on Wednesday 18 September 2024, achieved a full clearance for the Rubie family. They sold 160 rams to a top of $21,000 and an average of $3780. The top-priced ram was secured by return clients Donald and Will Grant, “Bundabarrina”, Collarenebri – their only purchase of the day. The Poll Merino ram, Lachlan 230012, was the second lot in the catalogue, featuring a 18-micron fleece. Lachlan 231050, also a Poll Merino ram, sold for $13,000 – the second highest price of the day.
