TOP SIRE 2025–2026 NSW SHOW AND SALE RESULTS 2024–2025 Ram Selling Season Charity Sales of the Season AVENEL The McCrabb family, Avenel, Wanganella, have been supporting the McGrath Foundation in recent years, acknowledging the work they do in honour of Amanda McCrabb, who was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in June 2023. Lot 23 in their catalogue has been dedicated as the ‘Pink Ram’, with proceeds from its sale donated to generate funding for breast care nurses through the foundation. In 2023, the charity ram sold for $6000 to repeat clients Geoff and Jan Davis, Rennie. A further $5600 was raised through a charity auction of items donated by AWN and Elders, which included an Engel fridge, chainsaw and woollen clothing. At their 2024 on-property sale, ‘Mr Pink’ sold for the equal second top price of $7500 to David and Neil Allen, “Rockview”, Mitiamo, VIC. They raised a total of $8810 which also included proceeds from a wool pack, scarf, beanie and Elders voucher, which were donated by AWN and Elders and auctioned at the start of their on-property sale. GRASSY CREEK The Corkhill family, Grassy Creek, Reids Flat, raised $6000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation at their 2024 on-property sale. Fourteen-year-old Toby was diagnosed with a blood condition called hereditary spherocytosis and was hospitalised during the year. He came up with the idea to offer a charity ram to give back to a cause that helped the family so much in a time of need and to help support other young people on the same journey. The ram was purchased by long-term client Richard Blyton, Nimmitabel. NERSTANE For over two decades, the McLaren family, Nerstane, Woolbrook, have donated the proceeds of a ram from their annual sale to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. The first ram in the catalogue is dedicated to the cause, which is close to the family’s heart. Since starting in 2000, the McLaren’s have donated upwards of $100,000 to the cause through ram and lamb burger sales at their annual on-property sale. 1– 2– Photo captions. 1–The ‘Pink Ram’ purchased by David and Neil Allen, “Rockview”, Mitiamo, VIC, for $7500 at the 2024 Avenel on-property ram sale.
