Poll genetics were introduced in 1989 and by 2000 the transition to all poll sheep was the focus. Only poll rams have been used since 2018. The stud currently focuses on breeding sheep that have early maturity with good wool cutting capacity relative to micron and the ability to rear twins well. Having mothered and recorded the pedigree of each lamb born since 1979 is invaluable as a learning and for identifying the superior breeders and the ewes that consistently rear their twins well. This year we are progeny testing 5 sons of Woolly, 6 sons of Gurragon, & 4 sons of Gonosh. 900 stud ewes will lamb in Sept/Oct 2025.
