2025–2026 Ram Selling Season Tops of the Season ROSEVILLE PARK There was strong competition between commercial and stud bidders at the 2025 Roseville Park on-property sale, held near Dubbo on Thursday 18 September. All 210 rams, 177 Poll Merinos and 33 Merinos, sold for an average of $3869. The first lot of the sale was introduced as the “star” lot, which allowed the winning bidder to select any ram in the auction catalogue and led to spirited bidding from the gallery. Stuart, Andrew and Cliff Kelly, Kilbournie Pastoral, Caloola, were the highest bidder at $26,000 and selected RP24-0076 as their pick of the sale. Sired by RP22-1194, it listed figures of 17.6-micron wool and 35mm EMD. The top-priced Merino ram of the sale, RP24-1114, was purchased for $16,000 by Overlea Holdings, Corowa. BOONOKE POLL/ WANGANELLA Poll Boonoke 240515 attracted attention in the show ring and at the 2025 on-property sale for Poll Boonoke and Wanganella studs, Conargo, where it sold for the top price of $25,000. The ram, awarded Champion Fine/Medium Poll Merino March Shorn ram at the Rabobank National Merino Show in Dubbo, was purchased by Rodney Kent, Kurrajong Park, Delungra. Known as “Barty”, it weighed 122kg and measured 18.9-micron with a 2.9-micron SD, 15.2% CV and 99.8% CF. In the sale breakdown, 150 Boonoke Poll Merino rams sold to average $3335, while 49 Wanganella Merinos sold for an average of $2892. The top price Merino ram of the sale sold for $11,000 to Thorr and Sons, Parkes. EGELABRA The 2025 Egelabra on-property sale was dominated by volume buyers from NSW and QLD which pushed the average to $4062, up $1202 on the year prior. Held at the Warren Showground on Wednesday 8 October, the sale saw all 152 rams sold to top at $20,000 for HEK-243099. The top ram was secured by long-term clients Walter and Vera Reardon, “Springmount”, Warialda. The ram weighed 100kg and recorded a fibre-diameter of 19.9-micron, 14.6% CV and 99.6% CF, with 34mm EMD and 4.5mm FAT.
