Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service Limited ANNUAL REPORT 2024/2025 39 Funded by: Federal Dept of Social Services – National Indigenous Australians Agency NSW Health – Rural Doctors Network – Western NSW Primary Health Network Celebrating over 39 years of Service since 1986 Outback Therapy (2024–2025 Annual Report) A Shared Vision for Health Outback Therapy, a branch of Raymond Terrace Therapy, is proud to continue its long-standing commitment to the communities of the Far West. As a dedicated provider of outreach Allied Health Services, we work in close partnership with the Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service (WAMS) and the Brewarrina Aboriginal Medical Service (BAMS) to deliver high-quality, culturally safe care. Our mission is to bridge the gap in rural health access by providing expert allied health support where it is needed most—right in the heart of the community. Growth and Innovation in 2024–2025 The 2024–2025 period has marked a significant milestone in our partnership with WAMS. This year was defined not only by the expansion of our existing disciplines—Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Pathology—but also by an increase in the frequency of our clinical presence. A major highlight of this reporting period was the successful commencement of our Allied Health Assistant (AHA) services. This new role has been instrumental in providing more consistent follow-up care, ensuring that therapy plans are implemented effectively between specialist visits. Impact Through Accessibility The growth of Outback Therapy within the WAMS and BAMS networks has led to: ● Increased Frequency: More clinic days and more regular visits to surrounding areas. ● Greater Access: Shorter wait times and more localised support for NDIS and aged care participants. ● Improved Outcomes: Enhanced health and wellbeing for community members through a consistent and reliable therapeutic presence. By working hand-in-hand with local medical teams and community programs, we are ensuring that the residents of Walgett, Brewarrina, and beyond have the tools and support they need to lead healthy, independent lives.
