A Water Police briefing covered emerging issues, including youth fishing in the marina and theft concerns, reinforcing collaborative safety efforts across the marine precinct. TASMANIA, NOVEMBER Bellerive Yacht Club The final regional meeting of 2025 brought Tasmanian members together at the newly redeveloped Bellerive Yacht Club — proudly recognised as Australian Sailing’s Tasmanian Club of the Year in 2021. The timing couldn’t have been better, with the session held straight after the MIA Board meeting, giving Board members the chance to join the wider group. Established in 1926, the club continues to evolve, with recent upgrades including floating and fixed berths up to 20m, secure access, on-site utilities, dinghy storage, and a new fuel dock. General Manager Andrea Cross welcomed the group and led an enthusiastic tour of the refreshed marina and clubhouse, sharing insights into the club’s future plans and passion for supporting local boating. The meeting wrapped up with a lively discussion on regional opportunities and strengthening collaboration across Tasmania’s marina community. BRINGING THE INDUSTRY TOGETHER From coast to coast, these regional meetings remind us of the power of bringing the marina community together, sharing ideas, celebrating wins, tackling challenges, and building relationships that strengthen the industry. It was especially fantastic to see new members jump in, meet peers, and discover the support and opportunities available through the MIA. A big thank you to all members, sponsors, and host marinas for the warm hospitality and for making these gatherings possible.
