July 2025 WATERLINE | 9 The MIA Environmental Award recognises an outstanding new product, process or service initiative that yields positive environmental outcomes and was highly contested with three finalists announced including, Jones Bay Superyacht Marina for becoming a key partner in the world’s first Smarter Cities Cleaner Oceans program led by Australian clean-tech company ‘Seabin’ and implementing 24/7 marine waste collection; ONE°15 Marina, Sentosa Cove for their broader strategy to transition from diesel powered to electric workboats and Royal Phuket Marina - Asia’s first and only carbonneutral marina—took the top honours for its all-round commitment to sustainability. Marina Manager, Balan Aramagan was on hand to accept the award and noted how proud he and the team are of their achievements. As a leader in sustainable practices, RPM was also the first marina to sign the MIA Sustainability Pledge. ONE°15 Marina, Sentosa Cove were awarded Highly Commended for their initiative. MARINA OF THE YEAR AWARDS The Boathouse Marina, in Western Australia who recently celebrated their ten-year anniversary received a Highly Commended in the Dry Stack Storage category, recognised for its fully enclosed facility and featuring the world’s only two Wiggins Marina FLX machines.
