As the marina’s operations evolved, management began reviewing its systems identifying limitations in software originally designed for the holiday and caravan park sector rather than a marina environment. Bree O’Rourke, Financial Controller Wyndham Harbour, said, “The software demonstration process with Harbour Assist was practical and tailored to our business. The team took the time to understand our business before the meeting to ensure that the functionality could be explained with a basic understanding of our operations.” The Harbour Assist functionality was a key factor, including customer and bookings management, booking requests and sales enquiries, occupancy tracking, invoicing and payments, financial and operational reporting, a customer portal for payments, documentation, and electronic sign lease agreements, task, resource, and asset maintenance management. Transitioning from spreadsheets and disconnected tools to an INDUSTRY NEWS integrated system provided an opportunity to review processes, clean historical data, and establish a more structured and consistent way of working. The system now aligns closely with business processes, supports detailed and flexible reporting, and improves efficiency across marina and facility management. O’Rourke added, “The time difference with the UK didn’t pose any issues. The Harbour Assist team made themselves available to ensure there was sufficient overlap to support our team.” Training was delivered in structured modules over several weeks, allowing staff to test functionality between sessions and raise questions as they progressed. “Given our Australian location, response times for ongoing support have not caused us any concerns.
