38 | WATERLINE March 2025 REGIONAL MEMBERS' MEETINGS INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS MEETING One of our most well attended and informative member meetings, over 35 members and sponsors tuned in for the virtual International Members’ Meeting. It was great to hear from members across New Zealand, the Pacific, UAE and Southeast Asia. The meeting highlighted an increase in the number of MIA course participants, and accreditation programs, with many expressing interest in attending Marina of the Year Awards and Marinas26. The MIA will be holding an Intermediate Marina Management (IMM) course in Phuket 18-22 May and Advanced Marina Management (AMM) course in Auckland 31 August – 5 September. ROYAL PERTH YACHT CLUB, PERTH What a fantastic turnout at the Royal Perth Yacht Club (RPYC)! Hosted by Rick Coates, General Manager RPYC, around 20 members joined us, along with Sheryl Swarbrick, President Boating Industry Association (BIA), WA, and Shelly Grice and her team from Department of Transport who presented the government’s development plans. Perth is buzzing with exciting private and public investment opportunities and is backed by a supportive government. Prior to the meeting, members were led on a fantastic tour by Marina Manager Gillian Tosh. ROYAL BRIGHTON YACHT CLUB, MELBOURNE Thanks to General Manager Phil Hall and his team at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, the perfect spot for our Victorian members' meeting and the MIA Board of Directors meeting which was held earlier in the day. It was a terrific opportunity for members around the Melbourne area to get together and hear from BIA VIC, Safe Transport VIC, and Parks Victoria, share their latest updates and network. Thank you to all attendees for engaging and making it a success. Thank you to members who attended the four MIA Regional Member Meetings hosted in the first quarter of this year. These meetings offer valuable opportunities to network, catch up on industry news, hear from our industry sponsors, and gain insights into the MIA’s industry support and resources. MIA members have opportunity to provide an update on their facility and discuss recent industry changes, or regional issues. ROYAL PRINCE ALFRED YACHT CLUB, NORTHERN SYDNEY & NORTHERN BEACHES We saw a great turnout at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) with over 40 in attendance. A special thanks to Kylie Brown CMM, Marine Services & Operations Manager for a fantastic site tour and General Manager Jon Harkness, for hosting us. Broken Bay Water Police provided an update, which was followed by a valuable networking session. Thank you to all who attended.
