July 2026 WATERLINE | 39 INDUSTRY NEWS MAC Marine Group is marking 10 years in business, reflecting on a decade of growth from a small owner-operated venture to a multifaceted marine services and brokerage business in Sydney. Founded by brothers Christian and Todd McLennan, “Growing up in a family of boaties and surfers, boating wasn’t just a hobby - it was a way of life which naturally led us toward building a career doing something we truly love”, they said. Operations began in 2016, providing vessel detailing, and skippering services on Sydney Harbour and along the East Coast, and vessel relocation services throughout the Pacific region. The business expanded in 2017, with the leasing of its first office at d’Albora Marina The Spit, Mosman, and by this time, MAC Marine Group was managing more than 25 private vessels and growing its team to meet increasing demand. A further milestone followed in 2018, when the company secured the lease of its current facility at Rowell Marina in Newport, Pittwater. The move enabled a broader range of marine maintenance services to be delivered in-house while working alongside a trusted network of highly respected industry partners. In 2021, MAC Marine Group acquired the long-established Rowell Marine Brokerage business. The brokerage business has since expanded and now includes an exclusive dealership agreement with Scimitar Power Catamarans. The brokerage division was further strengthened in 2024 with the appointment of Michael Coxon as Sales Manager. Now, in 2026, MAC Marine Group provides vessel management, maintenance, brokerage and marine support services, supported by a network of industry partners. The full-service maintenance and repair yard has a 45T Marine Travelift lifting vessels up to 70 feet with a 6-metre beam. Services provided include everything from slip for survey, to customised modifications.
