Repairing The Breach

Personal reflection We began this study with the story of two brothers - brothers who have a complicated relationship with their father, and with each other. The father giving of the older son’s inheritance cost both brothers and the father something — not only financially but also relationally. The relationship has been broken and while the younger son has been welcomed, there is still going to be a process of reconciliation between the brothers that will take time and work. We like to pretend we can just celebrate, and the work of healing is done, but those brothers will have a lot to process. Over the last few years, we have begun to see what sort of healing and processing we need to do at a societal level. Covid has shown the way that travel connects people and how our health care systems are only as robust as those of our neighbours.
