May 2020 FREO GRAPHIC EDUCATION NIGHTS 4 Thanks to everyone for supporting our Online Zoom night again this month. And big thanks to Bo Wong who presented a broad and wonderful set of images around her work. From her early beginnings as a photographer, through to her current work, curating and supporting a range of local artists around Denmark and Fremantle in WA. Bo has a gift, that not only sees her working closely with her subjects and artists, but in getting to know them intimately and representing them in the most honest and genuine way possible. Bo’s own photography portfolio also stands out as a simple yet elegant extension of who she is. I was fascinated by the range of work that Bo undertakes, from capturing images of pottery, glass, metal, architectural and hundreds of other artefacts, to the workshopping, podcasting and consultancy projects she embarks on. I think the most important aspect I would take away from our evening, was the absolute dedication to local artists, in whatever form they take. Bo has a genuine love of art in general, and just happens to be one of the better communicators we’ve had to tell their story. Pat Halloran Education Officer
