GPT Emergency Guidelines

3 EMERGENCY ALARM TONES (Note: some buildings may use single tone, ECO, PA or bells to notify of an emergency) ON SOUNDING OF THE ALERT TONE “BEEP...BEEP...BEEP” ON SOUNDING OF THE EVACUATION TONE “WHOOP...WHOOP...WHOOP”  Wardens will order an evacuation of the oor. On evacuation tone, evacuate...  Evacuate the building via the designated re/emergency exit and proceed to the External Assembly Area.  DONOTUSE THE LIFTS.  Wardens are to conduct a sweep of the oor to ensure all occupants are clear and report this to the Chief Warden.  Proceed to your ExternalAssemblyArea.  Wardens evacuate and remain with occupants at the ExternalAssemblyArea.  Do not re-enter the building until advised by the Chief Warden and/or the Emergency Services.  Be aware of a possible emergency situation occurring. DONOTEVACUATEONTHISTONE.  Occupants prepare for a possible evacuation and followwork shut down procedures. Secure your area (lock away condential les etc.)  Take personal items i.e. keys/wallet, phone & appropriate attire (jacket if cold etc. no bulky items).  Wardens to report to the internal WardenAssembly Point.  Wardens to check for signs of smoke, re and/or danger, emergency.  In an actual re, commence evacuation of your oor and report this immediately to the Floor Warden/Chief Warden.  If safe and if trained to do so, attempt to extinguish the re.  Familiarise yourself with evacuation plans.
