26 INSIDE Harcourts Congratulations, Jonathan! It brings us immense pleasure to announce the recent appointment of Jonathan Stewart as the Head of Systems for Harcourts SA, which took effect on 1st April, 2024. Jonathan’s appointment marks a significant milestone for our company. His wealth of experience and unwavering dedication have already begun to propel our systems to new heights. As the Head of Systems, Jonathan collaborates closely with Richard and Anton to fortify internal relationships and facilitate the seamless operation of technology within our network. His expertise is pivotal in spearheading the implementation and refinement of our critical systems. The highlight of our Events calendar is always HX here in South Africa. This year we were back at the picturesque Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensburg mountains. Despite the poor housing market, we had a great turnout and the Harcourts family came from all over the country to network, celebrate and soak up the Harcourts culture for a few days. As always, we had some amazing keynote speakers covering a very wide range of subjects from real estate to boxing to politics to Mount Everest to company culture to marketing. We were fortunate to have Martin Cooper all the way from New Zealand to share his thoughts on how better people make better real estate agents. His talk was one of the highlights of the Conference. Trent Sutton also unveiled the “We Make It Possible” campaign which was also enthusiastically received. The theme evening is always memorable, and this year was no exception. Everyone went all out to dress to the theme of “Winter Is Coming” and an epic evening unfolded. The live music and commitment to Fun and Laughter ensured that many of the team partied into the early hours of the morning! HX culminated with the Awards Evening and Gala Dinner where our top people were recognised for their achievements. As always this was a major celebration with all the associated pomp and ceremony. Hands were clapped enthusiastically; speeches were made, and the odd tear shed. When it was all over the Harcourts team went off in different directions to their respective areas of the country, richer for having spent time with each other. Harcourts culture is alive and well. Bring on next year!” Richard Gray CEO, Harcourts South Africa richard.gray@harcourtssa.co.za SOUTH AFRICA UPDATE INPLACE SOUTH AFRICA
